I have a student who's a linguist and an expert in Yorubá tradition and he told me that in Nigeria 'teacher' and 'student' is the same word.
This is what I wholeheartedly believe.
A teacher is someone who's eager to learn and constantly tries to improve, but we are all teachers and students.
I've been studying French for many years and I've recently decided to learn Italian.
My sister is learning Japanese and is fluent in English, she started studying English when she was 10 years old, just like me. I think Japanese is a lovely language, but I'm not as much in love with it as my sister is.

I had never thought of becoming an #englishteacher before I started teaching in my teens.
What I truly ever wanted was to be able to finally read Balzac in the original version and talk about French literature in French. I'd like to order a gelato and finally understand Laura Pausini's songs in Italian.
What I used to love most about learning English as a student was listening to different accents and I still do love all accents and I feel incredibly priviledged to learn about other cultures.
We don't just learn languages, we make our dreams come true through learning languages.
